Yuk, that really takes the sexy out of a pair of shoes. I had a pair of those sneaker-boot thingies once that I was playing with, and I got them wet, then put them in a drawer, two days later they were covered with little turquise mold spots, I immediately threw them out... pitty, but I guess I had never abused a shoe like that before.
Personally I like it - just imagine all those little roots eating away at the leather . I've tried to get boots to go like this deliberately but nothing I've tried (warm, cold, dry, damp, dark, light) would get the mold to grow.
There were some pictures in one of the Yahoo groups where someone had found some old shoes and boots in his shed - was it 'marthuratkinson'? Whoever - I liked them but unfortunately it seems to be an unusual kink even for us "pervs" here, so I haven't found many.
Which I think is a shame... anyone else got any lurking? Please?
Get them really wet and leave them in a plastic bag. I get this on boots a bit - usually because I come in from the mud, take a pair of soaking and mud sodden boots off and stick 'em in a shed to dry out. The mould just brushes off when they are really dry and as I don't like cleaning my boots, the dirtier they are the more I like it, this is a side effect.
