Any re-heelng experts here?

Post by MistressZee »

Hi,

I have some faith shoes that I love, but the heel tip on the right one is a bit odd, its loose and spins and now that I know its there, I really know its there. I have taken it to the menders and hee said that he couldnt replace it with a metal tip, and the rubber ones will wear out very quickly as they are so small.

If I buy some metal ones of ebay, is it something I could do myself or do they need expert tools and knowledge?

Ta, Zee

Sorry if the photos are too big to be shown, the originals are here http://s847.photobucket.com/albums/ab34 ... h%20heels/

These are the shoes in quetion

Hi MistressZee,

The heel taps shaft is ribbed so it doesn't spin, if it is spinning then the hole on the hell is worn out. Your shoe man needs to find a way to tighten the hole. My shoe man used part of a tooth pick. I was amazed it realty worked. :D :D

oops late for work gotta go :D :D :D

Sorry MistressZee,

I can´t help you out with your problem. :(

But I just want to say that those red soled heels are very sexy and they look perfect in this condition!

Thanks for the replies.

I thought I would cheat and try some superglue. If was ok for a few steps.

Just been having a look here at some new tips, might try to see if I can get the old ones off first.

Anybody used this place?

I have advice for you: don't reheel these shoes and continue wearing. Just wear them to the nails. I know that so many men love when girl is wearing well worn heels. Your heels look so sexy, love this red sole.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

I had a go at pulling the heels out in preparation for some new tips, the left was easy but the right was a struggle!

I thought that they would be a metal block with a pin sticking out, but it turns out the pin goes throught the metal block.
I decided to be cheap and just reinsert the pins without the metal block bits, seems to be OK! The left one went in easily, the right one took a few stamps to get it down. HAPPY NOW!!!
