In case you're still deciding what you will be doing to them in the next days, I think there are some great ideas mentioned above. Especially the "make them look ugly" part sounds great! But only to the extent of still being able to wear them, of course
Why not singe a few small parts of the front? Just to make the leather look more yellowish/darkish in a spot or two?
You could also use some sand paper or a file to tough them up a bit. But be considerate
Maybe scribble on the back? If it gets too messed up, you could still wear those trainers with a jeans without anyone knowing your secret.
Cutting a small (!) hole in the front where the leather creases might also be an idea - but your feet might get wet when it's raining. That wouldn't be too bad, though, right?
