slippery on the cooking plate

Post by penibel »

I wanted to warm up my rubberboots and to slip around a bit on the hot cooking plate. :D
It seemed like a fun thing to test.:o.this is the result.
The pics are from a quicktime mowie.
I made some screendumps. I'm sorry for the bad quality

Heated wellies

Post by gymshoelover »

WOW, what a fine idea :D . From the amount of smoke they must have warmed up quite a bit  , but tell me: How do you get the burned rubber off the ceran field :?: :!: . As a kid I tried something like that with my gym-shoes on a normal cooking field (the full metal ones) and had quite a problem getting the molten plastic off :o. Result: quite some trouble with mum
Let's play with fire - rubber and plastic only!

My le chameau boots are made of natural rubber. They seem to take the heat well.
They get hot and very soft but they don't melt like plastic.
They get slippery on the hot plate but when they cool dovn they just have a hard sooty surface under the sole. I wasch it off with a wet brusch and they look "like new".
I love the feeling of hot rubber under my feet and it wibrates when it is really hot.
The boots insulate my feet and i diddn't have to pull my boots off afterwards
The rest of the rubber on the plate is easy to remove if you let it be hot untill the smoke stops.
Then let the plate cool down and remove the black surface with a scraper. 8)

Doesn't that really stink up your house and give you seven kinds of cancer when you inhale?
